I am really interested by the concept of ephemeral art, as art is normally something that we can see in an art gallery for months, years, decades, even centuries. Yet there are pieces of art made from things such as ice, that can only ever last for hours and then they're gone forever.
I experimented with freezing an inked up intaglio plate onto a block of ice, hoping for the ink to transfer onto this ice, creating a piece of ephemeral art. This worked beautifully, the ink frozen into the ice, all of the details shown perfectly.
